Strengthening, not demolishing the Kundasang Memorial

Villagers in Kundasang were surprised to find part of the War Memorial had been demolished.

However, State Tourism and Environment Minister Datuk Masidi Manjun, clarified that the demolishing and reconstruction was necessary to strengthen the monument due to the effects of several landslides and earth movements in the area lately.
